「第33回 IFSCC 2023 Congress」にて研究発表を行いました
2023年9月4日（月）～7日（木）にスペイン・バルセロナのCCIB（Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona）で開催された「第33回 国際化粧品技術者会連盟（IFSCC） 2023 バルセロナ大会」にて、弊社研究員が「毛髪用天然化粧品原料・ヘマチン（グロスフィリン P）」に関する研究発表を行いました。
【発表タイトル】
How does the iron porphyrin Hematin provide strength to hair keratin?
（鉄ポルフィリンであるヘマチンは、どのようにして毛髪のケラチンに強度を与えるのか？）
【発表要旨】
Hematin specifically interacts with HC-keratin, which has a higher cystine content, compared to LC-ker atin with lower cystine content. High concentrations of cysteine are known to be present in hard struct ures such as cuticle scales. Therefore, it was expected that hematin would have a strong affinity for th e rigid fiber proteins in the cuticle and cortex of hair.In the tests of physical properties, hematin exhibit ed a significant improvement in torsional stiffness, which is influenced by cuticle properties, but had no significant effect on tensile strength, which depends on the condition of the cortex. This result demons trates the selectivity of the hematin-protein interaction. In other words, hematin specifically binds to rig id protein structures rich in disulfide bonds.Hematin's ability to improve the dyeability of hair color is a nother evidence of its adsorption to hair.
